It’s been longer than I would have liked since the last post, but after a few weeks, I’ve settled into my new house and FINALLY have internet! It feels great to be back in the 21st century.
In the midst of unpacking, I had the opportunity to sneak away to the Wisconsin State Fair! Nothing marks a day at the fair like dairy and sweets. Every year I look forward to sampling the traditional cream puffs. I was able to find the original recipe for the Wisconsin State Fair cream puffs to recreate them at home, but nothing compares to waiting in line for a plate with perfectly baked pastry shells filled with fresh whip cream. Below are a few pictures from the fair!
Does the picture below compare to the state fair beauties? This recipe tastes extremely similar to the state fair version with the exception of the whip cream- I prefer sweeter whip cream, so I added a little more powered sugar. Overall, the light pastry shell pairs wonderfully with the fresh, sweet, whip cream. Cream puffs are surprisingly simple to make and have a short list of ingredients, so give them a shot! Enjoy!
